Gameoverse Minecraft Server

The Gameoverse Minecraft server is now open! It's a "kitchen sink" modded server focused on multiplayer survival. We allow everyone to focus on the things they enjoy, and play however they like. More combat options like magic, classes, and rewarding exploration, and tons of new blocks for building and decorating. There's no real "end" or goals to this modpack. The intention is to just have fun doing whatever you want, for however long you want.

Our server supports only the Fabric mod loader Java Edition, version 1.21.1 of the game, and is available to players 24/7. This server is proudly hosted by Foxomy (we're not sponsored, they just provide a great service).

Follow the instructions below to start playing now.

Install The Modpack

Install the Prism Launcher, and link your Minecraft account in the app. Click the "Add Instance" button along the top-left. You can easily auto-install the entire game, our server setup, and all of the required mods by simply importing our Modpack into the app (select the "Import" tab). Prism will auto-install Minecraft and everything else that is required to play on our server. When you're ready to play, just click the "Launch" button.

Connect to the Server

• Launch the game, and select the "Multiplayer" option.
• Click the "Gameoverse" server.
• (Our server address will always be: "mc.gameoverse.com")
• Just click the "Join Server" button.
• If it's your first time joining, the modpack will be fully updated.

Update The Modpack

Our server features automatic updates, so when you connect to the server for the first time, it will update and synchronize mods with the server. Just wait for everything to update, you'll be notified when it's finished, and to re-launch the game. You can then begin playing! Whenever the server is updated, your game will automatically be updated when you launch.

• Once connected, you should use the "/discordverify" command to link your Discord account and unlock full privileges. Unverified users are not allowed to interact with the world! If you have a friend who's already verified, they can use the "/vouch (player)" command to vouch for you, allowing you to skip Discord verification.
• WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR EMAIL OR ANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION! If anyone ever asks for this information, they are a SCAMMER, and you should report them immediately!

NOTE: While we support the usage of client-side mods, we do not allow mods that enable any sort of "cheating"! Users with these mods will be banned from the server when you are found using them. Please play fair and respect other players!

New Features

Our server is modded and adds many new features, however most things are just like playing normal Minecraft. There are many changes and additions that keep things fresh and interesting for both experienced and new players. Most things have been altered in an intuitive way, so you won't get overwhelmed by everything right at the start.

• Full controller support! We've included full controller support in our modpack. You can configure the settings to your liking by opening the "Options - Controls - Controller Settings" menu. The preset options should be fine for most players.
• Bridging is available to ALL players! This is a beloved feature from the Bedrock version of the game that we have backported into our server.
• You can claim the land around your builds. Nobody will be allowed to interact with anything inside your area (unless you allow them), and mobs won't be able to grief your builds.
• Ingame calendar that matches real-world date and seasons (New York time). Seasons affect various aspects of gameplay such as weather, crops, and the length of daytime. Mechanics will remain surprising and fun all-year round.
• There are no villagers and no villages.
• Tons of magic, spells, classes, skills, weapons, armor, and many more items to find and craft. New enemies that get tougher the deeper and further you explore, with increading rewards and crazy loot.
• Lots of new blocks and items to find and craft for building and decorating.
• Custom skins! Custom skins are supported for all players, and can be loaded from any account or URL!
• PvP on the server is opt-in ONLY! Only players who have activated PvP mode can attack other players or be attacked by other players.
• Regularly updated! We will keep the experience fresh for all players by commiting to adding new content on a regular basis. All updates are automatically synced with your client when you launch the game!

Commands

• "/discord": Will give you a link to the Discord server.
• "/discordverify": You're required to verify your Discord account to interact with anything on the server.
• "/vouch (player)": If you've verified your account through Discord, you can vouch for your friends with this command, allowing them to skip verification. You will be held responsble for your invites!
• "/trade": Opens the menu to trade items with another player.
• "/afk (optional reason)": Toggles AFK mode.
• "/pvp": Toggles PvP mode.

Default Keybinds

Most keys are unbound by default. These are some of the defaults that are set, but you can view and change anything you want from the "Options" - "Controls" page.

• "Y": Sets up Voice Chat, and opens its settings.

• "R": Performs a Combat Roll (dodge).

  • Also bound to the Xbox B button, or your controller's equivalent.

• "Z": Zooms in (with Spyglass item in inventory).

  • Also bound to the Dpad Up button.

• "M": Opens the World Map (with Map Atlas item in inventory).

• "K": Opens the Skill Tree.

• "J": Toggles armor (shows your skin).

• "G": Holds out the item(s) in your right hand for another player to take.

• "' (apostrophe)": Opens the Claim menu (claim land and manage claims). Only vouched or verified players may claim land.

• "R": Shows the recipes to make the highlighted inventory item.

• "U": Shows the uses of the highlighted inventory item.

FAQ

What am I supposed to do?

• Literally whatever you want. This server is intended as a "Forever World", so there are no goals other than what you set for yourself. There's lots of content for explorers, and tons of content for builders. Once you spawn ingame, you get a free house blueprint that will instantly spawn a starting house of your choice wherever you want (once you're verified). You should then use the "Claim" menu (apostrophe key) to claim the land you're building on. This will prevent mobs and players from messing with your builds (unless you allow it).

Why is my health so low?

• Every player starts with 3 hearts by default. You gain a heart for every 5 unique foods eaten (uneaten foods are marked by a blue star in your inventory). Tons of new food items have been added, as well as new ways of healing and buffing the player. This (hopefully) encourages farming, cooking, helping other players, and more careful and rewarding exploration.

Why won't my controller work in some menus?

• Press the "Select" button (or your controller's equivalent) to activate "Mouse Mode" for that menu. Some menus can only be used in "Mouse Mode" (lockpicking, for example).

Why are some models/textures broken?

• It's possible that the Resource Packs are not loaded properly. Go to "Options - Resource Packs", and hold the "T" key to reload the defaults. The packs will be refreshed once you close the menu.

What Shader Pack should I use?

• We've included a few recommended shader packs:
• MakeUp - Ultra Fast (Best Performance, Lowest Quality)
• Complementary Shaders - Reimagined (Moderate Performance, Moderate Quality)
• Complementary Shaders - Unbound (Low Performance, High Quality)
• Eclipse - A Bliss Edit (Worst Performance, Ultra Quality)
• Go to "Options - Video Settings - Shader Packs" and select whatever one you like most, or add your own from the Prism Launcher.

Is this server pay-to-win?

• No. There is no paid content at all, and there never will be. We do accept donations to help pay for server costs, but players will not receive any benefits for donations.

Are there any Server Events?

• Right now, the only "event" is "Safe Sunday", which is a server-wide KeepInventory every Sunday. I'd like to do more events once I can come up with good ways to implement them.

Is there a full list of the mods used in the modpack?

• Yes. The complete list of mods, and links to download them can be found HERE.

Can I play this modpack in Single-Player mode?

• Yes! Once you update the modpack the first time, all mods will be downloaded, and will work in Single-Player mode. The modpack will continue to auto-update from the server whenever it is launched. You can also host a local game for your friends using the "Open to LAN" option from the pause menu. A link will be posted in chat which your friends can use as a server address to connect using the "Multiplayer" menu option. You're free to add any additional mods you like using the Prism Launcher, but any mods used in the modpack cannot be disabled/removed.

Can I get a backup of the world?

• Backups are made of the entire server every day, and I will share the world backups with any verified player on request.

Can I get unbanned?

• No.
